8K a year Heart Care Centers of Illinois, a multi-site network of cardiovascular providers, currently has an opening for a Patient Representative - Medical Records in our Mokena clinic.
In this role, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, accuracy and thoroughness of patient medical charts at assigned location, in the IDX computer system, and in the GE Centricity EMR system, in addition to:
Create/pull charts for scheduled patient appointments per clinic procedures; ensure thoroughness and accuracy of chart Sort, file and collate a variety of medical records and information into patient medical records in appropriate sequence and in accordance with established procedures; ensure that filing is thorough by checking patient identifying information on all documents; obtain reports/data from affiliated hospitals/ laboratories/physicians as required in order to ensure chart is up-to-date for scheduled visit Research lost or missing records in accordance with established procedures; ensure medical record location appropriately documented in systems Assist the designated Medical Information Release individual in retrieving medical information/medical records in order to answer authorized requests in support of patient care activities, patient account settlements and third party sponsorship Pull charts as needed for special audits, peer review, refill requests, RN call backs and such Requirements:
A minimum of one year experience working with medical records and EMR systems in a medical office is required High School Diploma or equivalent; Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate or Health Information Technologist degree/certification a plus! Excellent organizational and communication skills Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as this position may float among our different offices location in the South and Southwest suburbs Job Type:
